WordPress can be set up from the “fantastico” program within CPANEL on your hosted account so that you can quite literally have an easy to use website in minutes and I mean minutes. All you need to do is add the content and this has a What you see is what you get (WYSIWYG) editor which makes the whole operation super easy to manage.

Manual submission is a time consuming business and involves logging into the directory and adding your details into submission forms you will then be emailed and you then have to click on a link to tell them that you have received the email. Does that sound really boring well it is and I mean extremely boring.

You can go down another route and have a company do it for you and if you are only doing one site then that is fairly reasonable, but if you are becoming a niche marketer then you will be having many sites and that is where it will get expensive, there is however once again an alternative.

That is the website submitter this software can submit all of your sites to thousands of directories for far less money than it would cost to submit one site to any reasonable amount of directories. It is easy to set up and worth every penny but I do advise you to wait until you have a reasonable amount of sites to submit to as it saves you money in the long run.

There is enormous value in submitting to web 2.0 websites and submitting content on them with links when possible back to your website.

You can of course sign up to all of the social bookmarking sites and contact all of your friends and get them to post bookmarks for you, or you can once again automate the process the Traffic Bug does a reasonable job for this and does seem to be getting better all the time.

Your keyword or most likely key phrase must have enough traffic to make the key phrase economically worthwhile and at the same time have little enough competition so that it does not take too long to rank for it. Or indeed if you decide that you are going down the pay per click (PPC) route that the cost per click (CPC) is not too high to rule out a return on investment (ROI).

The Google keyword tool is free and delivers the keywords that you want, but it does not give you all of the information that you want, it does not tell you what the competition is, it does not tell you what kind of return you may expect to get from it.

As with most of the modules on this course everything can be done manually but really how valuable is your time.

Niche seems to be the keyword amongst internet marketers when teaching newbies about making money on the internet. So I thought I’d do some research and find out the best way to find a profitable one, plus give you some tips on how I find my unsaturated niche markets.
Recently I watched a fantastic 4 hour webinar by Derek Gehl and he gave a really great definition for what a niche is:

A niche market is a group of people who are searching the internet for a solution to a problem and not finding many relevant results.

Now when you think about it, that really makes a lot of sense. Internet marketers soul purpose online is to find a group of people, with problems, needs or desires and to create a product, service or solution for that group of people.

After they have found their niche and created their product it is then their job to market to that group of people to let them know they are an expert in this niche and that they have the answer to whatever it is they are looking for.

So with that being said, here are 5 tips that I have found to be the easiest way of finding a profitable niche:

1. Pick topics of interest to you: Picking a topic that you are passionate about or that you are interested in is a great place to start when searching for a niche for your online business. Lets face it, you are more likely to stick at something if you are interested in it then if it is a topic that bores you senseless. I recommend starting with a list of 5 topics including passions, interests, hobbies or subjects you are knowledgeable about or wish to become knowledgeable in, as a great place to start.

1. From your list pick one out of the 5 that you are really interested in to start your research: The point of this is, if you can find a unsaturated and profitable niche in your most favourite topic on your list, the chances are that you will be really eager to get this started and take action quicker. If by chance the topic you have chosen, does not turn out to be the most profitable niche to pick then you can work your way through the other 4 topics until you find one you think is worth doing more research.

1. Now it is time to try and find a niche within a niche: Okay so you have picked your topic which is probably one keyword or two. Perhaps Golf is your passion, Well I can tell you right now that there is no chance of even tapping into this market it is so competitive. But don’t get disheartened, there may be a micro niche within the Golf market that you can target ( you are looking for a niche an inch wide but a mile deep). Ed Dale from the 30 Day Challenge recommends searching for longtail keywords – words that people type into the search engines that have more than 3 words eg – golf clubs is a market – wooden golf clubs is a niche, and – Tiger Wood’s wooden golf clubs is a micro niche. It is much easier when getting started to sell to a smaller less popular micro niche market (using longtail keywords) then to try and compete in markets that have way too much competition.

1. Using a keyword tool to find your longtail keywords: I found this the hardest part of all. There are so many Gurus promoting different keyword research tools from, Wordtracker, Keyword Elite, Google’s keyword research tool and most recently Ed Dale’s introduced the market to a new one called Market Samurai. Well Market Samurai would have to be the easiest tool I have found to use and if used in conjunction with Google’s free search engine tool can give you a pretty good idea of whether a niche is worth targeting or not. It is not very expensive and you will find you will use it a lot for researching your competition and finding new niches.

1. What statistics to look for when finding a profitable niche: This question was the hardest one to answer. Every Guru out there has their very own strategy for finding a profitable niche, but I think Ed Dale made it the simplest for me so I will pass on his advice because it is the one I use for my business. If you are a newbie it is more important to get started in a niche that you have at least some chance of getting your first sale. The reality is, that if you target a niche that has more than 100,000 competing web pages and that has lots of competing websites with existing page ranks of 4 or higher, the chances of you even breaking into this market is pretty slim. But, if you target a market that has no less than 80 searches per day for a particular keyword and less than 50,000 competing web pages, chances are that you can compete in this market, build an online business and start making money on the internet.

You can read almost anywhere the importance of domain name selection most of the advice is centred on being short and easy to remember. Rubbish unless you are starting a website that relies on repeat custom to a very large degree (and even then we solve the problem with emails) this has little value to the internet marketer.

What is important here is to include the top keyword in your keyword research in your domain name as exactly as possible.

If necessary add a prefix or a suffix to the key phrase in order to find one with the better extensions such as .com, .net or .org.

Why go through all this trouble? well simply put Google and other search engines give a lot of credence to whatever is put inside the domain name they also value what is in the URL but the Domain is the most important.

You can find many sites on the internet with a pr1 site high in the rankings amongst pr5 giants simply because they have the key phrase in the domain name. It is by no means a guarantee but it gives you a massive advantage over those competitors who do not use it.

One of the ways to promote your niche is through article marketing; the benefits of this form of marketing are many.

It can quickly establish you as an expert in the field of your niche, on the internet if you have a lot of articles about a subject you will soon be considered an expert. People trust experts and if you research and write enough you will be the expert.

Article marketing provides traffic immediately and if you have crafted the correct article to the correct product with the correct resource box it will be targeted traffic.

If you cannot write articles, or will not write articles then don’t worry because almost everything you are likely to think of is most likely written already. So all you have to do is rewrite it and stick it on your page.

There are a number of article directories out there my favourite is ezinearticles as their editors are more stringent than others giving you a better place to start from. You must however make sure that you carefully change the article so that it has very little of the original left.

There are two ways of doing this:

1. You can manually rewrite the article from scratch taking only the information from the article you have just written and then repeat this as many times as you want to submit. This is as tedious as it sounds. Trust me I know.
2. You can spin the article with a content spinning tool I Use the best spinner because as its name implies it is the best spinner.

Spin text looks like this

When you generate articles with the spin text it can generate hundreds of fresh articles for you to use in article directories leaving you to come up with titles and resource boxes. Both of which are important.

A title must grab the attention of the reader and draw him into your article and the resource box must then lead him to your sales page.

Below are some of the important points regarding resource boxes.

1. First is something to avoid and believe me more resource boxes do this than do not in fact I have read many guides that advise this I am telling you categorically not to. “Do not talk about yourself no one gives a monkeys who you are and what you are up to” Your reader needs to know what you have for him.
2. So as an internet marketer we are providing solutions to people’s problems so you must tell them that:

I think you will agree that the second advert is the more potent and not only that I have included some anchor text in the resource box which should help my search engine position.

1. Do not satisfy the question in the resource box simply invite the reader to come and find out more, you must lead them to believe that there is far more information on your website than you have given in your article.
2. The resource box should as far as possible blend into the article it should flow onto the end and not stick out as an obvious plug for your product.

The next thing to consider is do I add my newly spun article with spun titles and spun resource boxes to several hundred article directories or do I put this on auto. Well a bit of both actually, I manually submit my articles to ezinearticles and a few of the other big article directories and for mass submission I use this service Click Here it is by far the best value out there at the moment, it will get your site indexed fast and continued article submissions will get it ranked.

Leaving comments on other people’s blogs is a good way of getting backlinks and traffic, you will read a lot about commenting is finished because of the “nofollow” tag that many blogs have. I believe and I am not alone that the “nofollow” tag does not entirely if at all negate the SEO benefit of the link.

Now let us be under no illusion the best comment you can get is off a high pr blog page that contains content that is directly relevant to your niche and the best way to obtain that is to visit the blog yourself and make the comment however it is not the only way.

But first let us look at the traditional way of blog commenting for SEO we download a copy of fast blog finder read the manual and find lots of blogs I recommend that you do both “follow” and “nofollow”  blogs even though it is possible to miss out the “nofollow ” altogether.

Just go through the list of relevant blogs and contribute properly to the blog by leaving a comment that is both helpful and complimentary. Now here is the sneaky part where it asks for your name write in your anchor text if your blog is about potty training then that is what you would put in the name this will get your comment deleted on a lot of sites but the ones that remain will be powerful drivers for your SERPS.

The second way is to get someone else to do it known as outsourcing we will look at this later in the course.

The last way is to automate your blog commenting many people frown on this type of behaviour but if done correctly adds nice complimentary comments to blogs and gives you a lot of backlinks very quickly. You can get an auto commenter HERE
